Tulip Time and Mother's Day

What a busy, busy week we had, even more than usual. May 5th we drove to Holland for Caitlin to dance at the Tulip Time festival. Immediately after she was done, it was time to drive to Sandusky for our first grandchild's birth on May 6th. After that, we headed back to Ann Arbor for jury duty for me. I spent most of the morning in the jury box before they finally dismissed me, without saying why. It would have been an interesting case, though. It was a murder case involving drug addiction and even had DNA evidence. I don't know how it turned out yet.
Since I wasn't seated on the jury, I was free to go back to Tulip Time for the rest of the week, of course after Caitlin was inducted into NHS on Monday night. I worked Tuesday and was able to resubmit a revised article on which I have been working back to the journal to which I originally submitted it. I sure hope it is accepted as revised.
Wednesday, we spent most of the day on the road, riding along on Brad's business calls until we reached Holland for Caitlin's Dutch Dance, dropped Buddy at the kennel and then back to the hotel room in GR. Thursday and Friday mornings, Brad went on business calls in the morning, and we spent the rest of the day/evening at Tulip Time for Caitlin's Exhibition Dutch Dance (2x Thurs and 3x Friday). Craig and Sue were kind enough to let us spend the night at their home Friday. Saturday morning Caitlin had street scrubbing and danced downtown before we picked up Buddy and then she danced again before the big parade, which she was also in. After the parade, we had a barbecue with Craig and Sue's family and headed back downtown for the final Tulip Time dance. We drove home Saturday night.

Sunday we drove to spend Mother's Day with Jillian and Brit and Austin, as well as Brad's mom Eileen and her husband Ralph. Brad barbecued a delicious meal for us all. I got a bottle of dip and pretzels (yummy), as well as a gift certificate to Panera bread, from Jillian and her family. Jacki and John sent me a beautiful necklace and earring set that you can see in the pictures when I am holding Austin. He was wearing the little U-M socks I knit for him. It was a gorgeous and fun day. We headed home about 6PM to get back to our normal busy schedules. At least until next week, when Jacki flies in to spend some time with Jillian and Austin and help give them a baby shower. We are all very lucky to lead such full lives.
