My 1st paper was accepted!!

I am so excited! After three revisions, my first first-author paper has finally been accepted for publication. Well, I found out last week, but I have been too busy/tired to update. The picture above is of me with Poorna and Fumi, two of my labmates, friends and collaborators. The projected publication date is July 20th, but it should be online by June 16th. I have pasted a portion of the letter of acceptance here:

"It is a pleasure to accept your manuscript entitled "A mouse embryonic stem cell model of Schwann Cell differentiation for studies of Neurofibromatosis 1 in Schwann Cell development and tumor formation" in its current form for publication in GLIA.
...
Thank you for your fine contribution. On behalf of the Editors of GLIA, we look forward to your continued contributions to the Journal."

I still have data towards another paper and my mentor wants me to write a review article, but this is a big step towards my graduation. WooHoo!

Therese, congrats on the paper and good luck with the rest of school. Who knows maybe when I get back I'll be able to see you graduate!

Thanks so much! I am leery of getting too excited-I still have work to do, but I hope to finish in time for John to see me graduate when he returns. One step at a time, I guess.
