Home today

I am home working today, because I have so much writing to do, and it is too distracting at the lab. I am writing a review paper, I have a thesis committee meeting next month to prepare a presentation for, and I need to look for a post-doc job and send out applications, so I also need to email the people I hope to have for references (I really just need to ask one more). Brad is gone for a couple of days and Caitlin doesn't usually come downstairs too much, so I can work in peace. I have gotten a lot done, but it is time for a break so I figured I could catch up on my blogging.
Last Sunday, we had a shower for Brad's nephew's fiancee before we headed back home. I was also able to get some nice pictures of his mom and her sisters, his sisters, Jillian, Caitlin and I and the little cousins in attendance (Brad was babysitting for Austin, so he was not there).

I love this picture of Austin, that little smirk makes it look like he is really up to something :-)

Jacki called Monday to let us know that John will be leaving for Iraq soon, so we are all praying for his safety during his deployment.

Last night (at midnight) we went to see the fifth Harry Potter movie (The Order of the Phoenix). We were going to see the Imax version with the last 20 minutes in 3-D, but somehow we got tickets for the regular showing. I thought it was still very good, though due to the length of the book a lot had to be cut.
