Brad, Caitlin and I are visiting John and Jacki this week before he heads off to Iraq soon. First,on Saturday we stopped by Jillian and Brittan's house and to Brad's nephew Gabe and Tera's wedding. It was fun to see everyone-there is another nephew wedding later this summer (Drew and Dawn), so we will have more shower/wedding parties to attend.
Sunday, we took off early for North Carolina. On the way, we stopped by my friend and mentor/colleague Darren's lab. It was great to visit with him for a short time. He is a great guy and it was really nice of him to take the time to meet us and show us around his lab. It was Brad's idea for me to hold the pipetman-he is a little obsessed with them ;)
We arrived at Jacki and John's about 9PM Sunday. We have been having fun playing Wii games (Shrek and Harry Potter) and Cornhole and are looking forward to the rest of the week. Yesterday, we went to Best Buy and bought a Web cam like Jacki and John's, so we can talk to each other and play games. The "kids" were playing hangman through the Skype program. We also bought a "gorillapod" tripod that is flexible-here is the first family picture we took using it.
John and Brad are playing golf this morning, Jacki needs to work until 2, and Caitlin is still working on her favorite pastime (sleeping), so I am downloading pictures and updating this blog.
